The release of Tower of Fantasy in Vietnam is entirely possible.
Tower of Fantasy has set a global release date. Interestingly, there is also a Vietnamese market. This is quite special because so far, not many products released globally do this for the Vietnamese market. Another part is related to the fact that Tower of Fantasy is a massively multiplayer online role-playing product, which is vastly different from the previous Genshin Impact case.
Even with Genshin Impact back in the day, there was still a local issuer standing out to ensure legal procedures in accordance with regulations. But in the case of the current Tower of Fantasy, all gamers see is that this game appears on Google Play and especially the App Store. Information about the domestic issuer remains a mystery.
The presence on the App Store makes Tower of Fantasy very likely to launch Vietnamese gamers on the upcoming 11/8. Currently, the unit that put this game on the App Store and Google Play Vietnam is still Level Infinite. This is Tencent’s global game publishing division, which is also the person behind the release of Glorious King in 2022.
So there are three possibilities. One is that Tower of Fantasy can “stand still” on the App Store and Google Play Vietnam as a pre-registration that cannot be downloaded. Second, there was a domestic unit co-publishing with Level Infinite to launch Tower of Fantasy. Three is directly Level Infinite does this. However, the third case is difficult to do because it is not certain that Level Infinite is capable of and ensures the legal procedures to release the game in accordance with the regulations.
Is Tower of Fantasy similar to the previous Genshin Impact case?
If Tower of Fantasy is still released in Vietnam, maybe this game will be similar to the previous Genshin Impact case. That is, after a while, it will be taken down and transferred to a domestic game publisher. For now, Vietnamese gamers will have to wait until August 11, to see if the “receive” button of Tower of Fantasy on the App Store will turn into a download.
