Who is the villain of Doctor Strange 2 in the Multiverse of Madness?
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness is a superhero film based on the Marvel Comics character Doctor Strange. Produced by Marvel Studios and distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, the film is the sequel to Doctor Strange (2016) and the 28th film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU). The film is directed by Sam Raimi with a screenplay written by Jade Halley Bartlett and Michael Waldron, and stars Benedict Cumberbatch as Stephen Strange, alongside Benedict Wong, Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Elizabeth Olsen and Xochitl Gomez .
Recently, the official trailer and poster for the film has been released by Marvel with many interesting images. However, in the trailer, the fans have not really realized that Doctor Trang is facing any force of the Multiverse and who is the real villain of the film?
There have been several theories about who is behind everything and is the main antagonist of Doctor Strange 2. The first is Strange Supreme, who appears at the end of the trailer with a smile and extremely haunting voice. Strange Supreme is another version of Doctor Strange from the Multiverse, corrupted by dark magic. Up until now, we still have not been able to determine if the version of Strange Supreme in the movie is the version of Strange Supreme that appeared in the TV series What If…? or not and the high possibility that these two characters have nothing to do with each other. Moreover, the character’s statement Mordo confirmed that Strange is a threat to the Multiverse, so it is very likely that the person he is referring to is the Strange Supreme.
Referring to Karl Mordo, it is not excluded that this character is the one behind everything and manipulating the events that occur in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. At the end of the previous part, Mordo had a quarrel with Strange and he decided to go out to find those who had been magically blessed by the Ancient One and take them all back. There is also another quite reasonable theory supported by fans that Wanda will confront Dr Strange to find his two children Billy and Tommy. Maybe the opening of the Multiverse is due to Dr Strange’s mistake (or Loki’s fault) and the troubles that happened are true, but after knowing his two children still exist somewhere in the Multiverse. Wanda will not agree to close the gate connecting to other Universes and a war between the two most powerful wizards in the MCU at the moment will take place.
