King, Kaido’s strongest subordinate, fights Katakuri, Big Mom’s strongest child, in One Piece.
We’ve got an overview of King’s power. If he was pitted against Charlotte Katakuri, who would win? Katakuri is Big Mom’s strongest child, while King is Kaido’s strongest subordinate. It will be interesting if they fight each other.
Here’s an analysis of who will win if Katakuri fights King!
1. Katakuri can discern King’s weakness thanks to Observation Haki
Katakuri is able to perceive King’s weakness through Observation Haki in One Piece, with the power of Mochi Mochi no Mi, he can attack King from many different angles.
Zoro in chapter 1035 realized King’s weakness. When the flames behind him disappeared, King’s speed increased but defense decreased.
On the other hand, when the flames flare up, the speed decreases but the defense becomes extremely strong. This can cause trouble for enemies who are unaware of King’s power. It also takes a long time for Zoro to be able to hurt him.
Charlotte Katakuri’s special feature is her possession of high-level Observation Haki. Not even this type of Haki belongs to Queen and King, the two strongest commanders of the Beasts Pirates.
If the battle drags on, Katakuri can discern King’s weakness through Observation Haki. After he realized King’s weakness, with the power of Mochi Mochi no Mi, Katakuri was able to attack King from various angles. Especially if he used the awakening power.
2. Katakuri possesses Conqueror Haki, but can’t seem to cover attacks
As long as Katakuri knows King’s weakness in One Piece, I think he’ll be able to hurt him, although maybe King won’t lose easily thanks to the power of the ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit.
When Katakuri fought Luffy, it seemed he was unable to cover his attacks with Conqueror Haki, despite possessing it. If so, then Katakuri could have beaten Luffy faster. We know that Luffy is initially defenseless against Haoshoku Haki coated attacks, so Kaido knocks him down easily with one hit.
That might make Katakuri’s attacks not as strong as Zoro’s now. Zoro clearly did this in chapter 1035.
Although Katakuri’s destructive power is not as great as Zoro’s, he is able to attack in many ways, thanks to an ability from Mochi Mochi no Mi. As long as Katakuri knows King’s weakness, I think he can still hurt him, although it’s possible that King won’t fall so easily thanks to the power of the ancient Zoan-type Devil Fruit.
3. King’s fire power and ability to fly can cause trouble for Katakuri
If King decides to use fire attacks, Katakuri then creates a hole in his body to dodge, but the flames from King still hit him.
Katakuri may have difficulty with King’s flames. If the battle takes place outdoors, King will use space to fly freely, dodge Katakuri’s attacks, and then counterattack.
I think that with the power of fire attacks, King can make it difficult for the opponent, even though Katakuri sees the future, he will still get hit. If King for example uses fire attacks, Katakuri then creates a hole in his body to dodge, but the flames from King still hit his body.
4. King can be forced to increase speed, and that will be Katakuri’s chance
When King decides to increase his speed, Katakuri will foresee it thanks to Observation Haki and he will definitely try to attack right away.
If King does not increase speed, Katakuri will anticipate all attacks. But for example, if he increases his speed, there will be a chance for Katakuri to attack again.
I think King decided to increase his speed in the end, because otherwise the fight would take a long time. When he was about to increase his speed, Katakuri foresaw it thanks to Observation Haki and tried to attack right away.
Who would win in such a situation?
5. Currently, Katakuri and King’s abilities are quite balanced
Because the abilities of King and Katakuri in One Piece are fairly balanced, the winner of the duel really depends on who is luckier, or faster.
Remember that before losing to Luffy, Katakuri was undefeated. Considering that he and King are both commanders under the Yonko, I suspect they have at least had an actual duel in the past, and the match ended in a draw. Thus, Katakuri remained undefeated.
He later lost to Luffy, but that was nothing to be ashamed of. In Onigashima, Luffy’s strength is approaching that of a Yonko, surpassing commanders like King and Katakuri.
King who can fight Zoro has also clearly demonstrated his strength and toughness. Based on the above analysis, I think Katakuri’s battle with King will be very balanced and can be prolonged.
For example, if the fight took place in an enclosed space, Katakuri could trap the King and then attack him. He will find out King’s weakness with Observation Haki.
Meanwhile, King’s fire attacks and flying abilities can also trouble Katakuri. The toughness combined with the ability to fly and the power that comes from fire made me feel as if King had won the duel.
But if the battle takes place in a place like the mirror world, then Katakuri can win. These two will most likely actually fight until they decide to attack each other by risking everything. King sacrifices defense for speed, while Katakuri tries to take advantage of every opportunity to attack.
Since the abilities of the two are fairly evenly matched, who wins from a duel really depends on who is luckier, or who is faster. That’s the theory of which character wins if Katakuri fights King.
