INTERNATIONAL_ German gamers are increasingly interested in mobile games as evidenced by the increasing revenue for this segment according to surveys.
App Annie recently reported that German gamers spent $2.8 billion on mobile games in 2021. For comparison, the revenue of the Russian mobile game market during the same period only reached $1.05 billion, pretty much lower.
According to the report, users in Berlin love mobile games because they are convenient to experience, especially on the go, unlike PCs or sometimes as bulky as consoles.
Statistics show that mobile games are becoming more and more popular in Germany when the amount of money loaded into the game increases significantly.
Moreover, currently playing mobile games, there are many events and top tournaments for gamers that can easily participate such as PUBG Mobile, Free Fire, Arena of Valor, Mobile Legends…
This is a significant difference of the reported German market. Firstly, the increase in user spending on mobile games in 2021 here amounts to a significant $500 million. Second, domestic mobile game spending has not decreased significantly compared to 2020 ($80 million). Third, $500 million was spent when downloads dropped (in Russia, for example, not noted).
However, the report also shows that the mobile game download rate in Germany is not high.
By the way, in terms of downloads, German players’ game downloads are much less competent than those of Russians. During the year, 823 million game downloads were made in Germany. In Russia, 2.73 billion game downloads were announced last year.
In one report, EU players are spending less and less on games. Specifically, the key figures for the full year are reported as follows: the company’s annual revenue of 286.2 million euros, an increase of 5.1% compared to 2020. At the same time, operating profit decreased by 11 .3% to 37.7 million euros, EBITDA (profit after tax) also fell 15.4% to 50.8 million euros.
So far, mobile games are still winning over other platforms thanks to their utility. The richness and variety of the game is also a plus.
