Out of all the martial arts masters introduced in the Dragon Ball series, the first introduced is Master Roshi. Appearing as a legend, he is the creator of the Kamehameha move. People refer to him as someone who knows more about fighting and martial arts than anyone. However, in today’s post we will not talk much about Master Roshi but about his turtle.
This is a very old tortoise, a longtime companion and living in the same house as Quy Lao. The most interesting thing about it is that although it was originally just an ordinary turtle, it was able to speak human language after many years living with Master Roshi. So why can Master Roshi’s turtle talk?
Just briefly, the species of this turtle is unknown as it is only known as “Turtle” or “Sea Turtle”, so it could be a species of turtle like any other turtle with brown shell, body Its fins and head are pale white, with numerous black spots above. This turtle is quite serious, in contrast to the Old Lady, so it often acts as Roshi’s supervisor. The turtle is kind and grateful to others when he wants Master Roshi to give Goku a present when he returns to the sea.
The story is that after a year of getting lost while picking mushrooms, the turtle arrived in Skull Valley one morning, where it met Goku and was mistaken for a rock. Bulma gives it some seawater and Goku decides to go 100 miles to bring it back to the sea. Along the way, Goku defeated the Bear Thief (threatened to eat turtles) and continued on his way. After reuniting with Master Roshi, the turtle showed more affection when he offered Master Roshi a reward for the two, Master Roshi then gave Goku Flying Nimbus and Bulma the 3-star dragon ball he found. at the bottom of the sea.
However, the most impressive thing about this turtle is that it can talk. The only explanation given by its creator – author Akira Toriyama is that the turtle can talk due to gradual learning and experience. Remember that this tortoise is over 1000 years old (long live) and is Roshi’s longtime companion.
Many fans speculate that it was the experience of living with Roshi that made the turtle learn human languages, becoming an expert in languages. Unfortunately, so far, this turtle has “run out of land” so it can’t appear again in Dragon Ball.
