After that, Ran brought him back to his new “nest”: the house of “fuzzy chicken” detective Kogoro Mori. Many people think that his being nice to Conan is unfounded. But in fact, the explanation for this is not so difficult.
Not good enough to starve to death?

This is obvious already. There are even two different ways to explain it. The first reason is directly related to Yukiko. And it’s in chapter 51. There, she “disguised” as Fumiyo Edogawa – Conan’s “fake 2” mother to give Kogoro Mori money to support him, and at the same time told him to be nice to him. That amount is really huge, up to 10 million yen in cash. Given the position of the Kudos at that time, this was completely manageable. As for the zinc-bearded uncle, this is clearly a contract that cannot be refused. And he was forced to obey it, is the money in front of his nose to leave it?

At first, Mr. Mori barely knew who he was. But he wasn’t heartless enough to leave him on the street. After all, there was only one way to bring it home. And obviously, he has also handled more than a hundred cases for him since the beginning of the story. Finally, the “zinc beard” uncle resigned from the “faint chicken” to become a famous detective.
Unfortunately, with his mind confused by alcohol, girls and horse racing, Mori knew nothing. But he still had a hunch that the boy “staying in” in the house was a source of luck. Therefore, Kogoro Mori is still good to Conan but has not done anything too much.
If he mistreats Conan, his daughter Ran would be very sad
Mr. Mori may not be a good person. But he clearly wasn’t cruel enough to make his daughter cry.
Maybe Kogoro Mori didn’t intend to be nice to Conan at first. But for various reasons, that has changed. And one of the key “factors” here is Ran – his daughter. She is a kind and gentle girl. From the moment she was at Dr. Agasa’s house, she already had a good feeling for the boy. Sure enough, she also asked her father to keep him.
And as expected, Mr. Mori could not refuse the offer. He was an alcoholic, a drug addict, a prostitute, all of which were true. But to his family, he will always be a good father. Just look at how he stood up to protect Kisaki and Ran when in danger. Obviously, the uncle didn’t want his relatives to cry, especially Ran.
