Zenitsu in Kimetsu no Yaiba has a very strange habit of falling asleep in the middle of a bloody battlefield. While this is true, what is the “core” of the problem?
When he was awake, he was a shy young man who could not do anything. But everything will turn 180 degrees the moment Zenitsu dozes off. Perhaps this is a unique case of “multi-personality” in Kimetsu no Yaiba. In the beginning of the series, he is undefeated when he closes his eyes and snores. Then every time I wake up from the coma, all the demons around me will melt into nothingness.
This is not without foundation. From the very beginning, Zenitsu also knew how to use the Breath of Thunder. Even though he was only able to use the first form, he was constantly improving its power. By continuously outputting the output, he would gain tremendous speed. But unfortunately, he is too cowardly. As soon as he saw the sign of a demon, his instincts would urge him to cry and immediately run away. Perhaps only when sleeping, this harmful “instinct” will “silence”.
The only time when Zenitsu can fight is when he falls asleep
As it turned out, this was the reason why Zenitsu slept all day in the middle of the battlefield. He has no courage. He had no intention of standing out in a battlefield that smelt of blood. He was simply too scared to face reality. This is what we anime fans completely understand. Most of the demons Muzan creates are often deformed and disgusting in appearance. They possess strength beyond that of humans and have unlimited stamina. And yet, the strong demons also have Blood Demon magic. Faced with people like that, only abnormal people can stay calm. The Demon Slayer belongs to this group.
And our blonde boy is not like that. But he will become a brave, brave warrior when… sleep. This is shown throughout the battles he participates in in Kimetsu no Yaiba. From the battle at Mount Natagumo, the Endless train, or at the red light district, Zenitsu always dozed off before going seriously into battle. And what was surprising was that even fighting in this state improved his experience. At the beginning of the series, he can only cast 1 super speed sword. Now, after his efforts, he can “walk” 6 sword lanes at once. But of course, because of his low bravery, he hasn’t used any of them on demons (while awake).
Because at that time, his “instinct” didn’t work. If it rose, he would scream and run forward.
Even so, it’s clear that his personality is gradually improving with each episode of Kimetsu no Yaiba. In the beginning, he was a cowardly simp that made my blood boil. Even so, the antipathy gradually disappeared when I saw that he was willing to risk his life for keeping his word to Tanjiro. That is the seed of a courageous Zenitsu, devoted to his friends in the future. And his fear also improved day by day. In the past, whenever he met a demon, he would scream loudly. In the Red Light District section, the “screaming and crying” stitch no longer appears. Even later, he even opened his eyes directly when fighting the old unkind brother. It was this development that made countless people “fall in love” with him.
