Kodoani.com – It’s no secret that Oshi no Ko filled with catchy wild tunes, including the anime’s newest opening song. After YOASOBI released the English version of the song “Idol” by YOASOBI last month, the song has officially made music history as the first Japanese original song to reach No.1 on the Billboard Global Charts. (excluding the United States).

The single is currently in the top 10 on the regular Billboard Global 200 chart, and spent seven weeks at number one on the Billboard Japan Hot 100.

According to Billboard, the chart, which began September 2020, ranks songs based on select sales and streaming activity from more than 200 territories around the world, compiled by Luminate. “Idol” jumped from #6 on Billboard Global Excl. US Chart after a 14% increase in plays (45.7 million) and a 39% increase in sales (24,000) in the past week.
Based on the manga written by Aka Akasaka and illustrated by Mengo Yokoyari, Oshi no Ko is directed by Daisuke Hiramaki and assistant director by Chao Nekotomi at studio Doga Kobo, with series composition by Jin Tanaka and design. Kanna Hirayama’s character:
