The story of an otaku girl who is obsessed with a real-life magical girl that leads her down a dark path
Kodoani.com – Rakuten Books retail site for the January 2023 issue of Shueisha’s Ribon magazine reports that the manga Acro Trip of Yone Sawata will get an anime. Sawata revealed on their Twitter account an announcement on December 1 (January issue date) at midnight (November 30 at 10:00 a.m. EST).

The comedy focuses on Chizuko Date, an otaku girl living in a city in Niigata Prefecture. Chizuko is obsessed with Berry Blossom, the magical girl who protects the city. However, Chroma – the leader of the local crime organization Fossa Magna – is weak and incompetent, so almost no one cares about the frequent battles of Berry Blossom and Chroma anymore. Chizuko vows to unravel the magical girl’s miracle — and this fervent desire leads this seemingly shy middle school girl down a dark path filled with strangers…
Sawata launched the manga in 2017 in Ribon, and the series will end in the January 2023 issue of the magazine. Shueisha published the manga’s fourth volume on February 25.
