Kodoani.com – Yoshihiro Togashi has hinted at the manga's return Hunter X Hunter on Wednesday via a Twitter post. The artist shared a photo of a manuscript with the number 5 in the corner, indicating that he is writing chapter 405. The photo also has the text “Moon Healing Escalation!”, a healing technique used by Sailor Moon, created in part by his wife Naoko Takeuchi.

Togashi also hinted last October that the manga would return soon, sharing a photo of a corner of the manuscript with the words “Starting again”. He revealed in March 2023 that chapter 401 of the series had been completed, although he did not confirm when the series would return to serialization.
The manga went on hiatus in January 2023 with chapter 400, due to the author's health problems. At that time, Shueisha announced that they had consulted with Togashi and decided that the manga would not continue to be serialized weekly in the future. The editorial board added that once they know specific details about the manga's return and how the manga will be serialized in the future, they will reveal the details in the magazine.
The manga returned after a nearly four-year hiatus in the magazine's 47th issue of 2022, which was released in October 2022. The manga has been on hiatus since November 2018.
Togashi began serializing the manga in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in 1998. The manga has spawned two anime television series, two anime films, several original video anime titles, and several stage plays. Shueisha published the manga's 37th compiled book volume, the first in four years, in November 2022.
