With over 373 million players, India represents the second largest gaming market in the world and over 91% of gamers in the mobile gaming region. Newzoo predicts that India will generate more than $2.2 billion in revenue for the mobile game market by 2022, having a major impact on the Asian gaming industry.
The report studied both paid and free games. Male gamers make up the majority of both metrics, with 62% of players playing free games and 55% of gamers playing paid games.

About 50% of Gen Z gamers (born 1997 to 2002) are actively engaged in paid gaming, compared to just 35% of Millennials. This shows that younger generations are more inclined to spend real money on gaming than older generations.

Casual games are still among those that perform well in terms of retention. In which mid-range games have retention rates of 25%, 5% and 1% after the same time period.
