This year’s 17th issue of Shueisha’s Great Jump magazine revealed on Wednesday that twin manga creator Yudetamago is drawing a new chapter of their Tatakae!! The Ramenman manga will ship in the magazine’s next issue on August 18. This will be the manga’s first new chapter in 32 years since the manga ended in 1989.
Original Tatakae !! Ramenman manga serialized in Shueisha in Fresh Jump magazine from 1982-1989, first published in 12 compiled book volumes. The manga inspired an anime and anime theatrical release in 1988. While the manga’s protagonist Ramenman shares the same name and many similarities with Kinnikuman’s protagonist, the manga’s story has no direct connection. with the character Kinnikuman.
The manga creator duo known as Yudetamago resumed their original Kinnikuman wrestling manga series on a websiet in 2011. The authors returned to their first Kinnikuman 1979 storyline and continued where they left off their last manga in 1987. The original manga has inspired various anime adaptations. Yudetamago previously published a Kinnikuman one-shot manga in Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine in 2015, and then published a one-shot in Weekly Shonen Jump for the first time in 11 years in June 2019.
Kinnikuman character toys were imported to the United States under the brand name “MUSCLE” in the 1980s.
