Valve has released a list of the 20 games that Steam Deck users spent the most time playing this past November, with a few notable surprises.
The handheld console has always been touted as a versatile choice for gamers of all configurations, and its community seems to have documented this, based on what people have experienced on it. Specifically, the Steam Deck itself is not an extremely powerful gaming machine, and most gaming laptops with a dedicated GPU will beat it. However, its unique set of features and optimizations have allowed it to go beyond that, as it can run almost any modern AAA game with ease. And, according to Valve’s latest announcement, that’s exactly what gamers are using the Steam Deck for.
Although Valve has been busy getting this handheld console into the hands of gamers lately, the company took some time to celebrate the 20 most-experienced Steam Deck titles in November, listing them according to the time the player has spent on them. Vampire Survivors topped the list, Persona 5 Royal taking second place, followed by Elden Ring. Much of the list shows relevant gaming trends, as one would expect, but the fact that RimWorld made it into the top 20 is quite surprising.
The Steam Deck’s ability to limit frame rates to 40Hz has proven instrumental in allowing gamers to play the highest-end AAA products like Cyberpunk 2077 and Elden Ring on Valve’s mobile PC. While it seems obvious that players seem to enjoy lighthearted titles like Vampire Survivors and Stardew Valley on the device, there are plenty of hardware-intensive titles listed in the top 20 for November 2022, including Red Dead Redemption 2, Spider-Man Remastered, and Fallout 4.
The list then speaks to the sheer versatility of the Steam Deck, as its impressive hardware allows players to enjoy virtually any game genre using fully customizable controls to match. with their own preferences. The Steam Deck is now shipping quickly to buyers, meaning that anyone who doesn’t already own one can easily get it without the long wait it originally started with.
Alternatively, interested gamers may want to gift a Steam Deck from Valve’s Game Awards program, in which they will give away one Steam Deck every minute of the show. This means Valve will be giving away 120 Steam Decks by the end of TGA in 2022, giving all participants plenty of opportunities to win great prizes.
