Kikuko Inoue , Aya Endo join the cast with the animation team back at 8-Bit
The first commercial for the Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei: Tsuioku-hen anime aired after the finale of The Honor Student at Magic High School anime on Saturday. The website for the new anime has announced the main cast, main staff, and the anime’s winter television premiere.

Risako Yoshida (The irregular at magic high school The Movie: The Girl Who Summons the Stars, The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc) is returning to direct at 8-Bit alongside assistant director Jimmy Stone. Munemasa Nakamoto also returned with the scripts. Kana Ishida is once again the original character designer and animation director.

The flashback by author Tsutomu Satou and the novel by illustrator Kana Ishida takes place in the eighth volume. Yen Press released the volume in English and it describes the story:

Waki Ikawa published the manga adaptation of the arc in Kadokawa’s Dengeki Daioh magazine in 2014-2015. The manga has three volumes.
The irregular at magic high school ( Mahōka Kōkō no Rettōsei ) light novel series launched in 2008. The series ended with the 32nd volume, subtitled “Sacrifice-hen / Sotsugyō-hen” (Sacrifice / Graduation Arc), on September 10. The novel’s sequel was released on October 10, 2020 and January 9, 2021.
The light novel series has 12 million copies in circulation, while the series including the manga has 20 million copies in circulation. The novel series has adapted many manga series from different authors, based on different parts of the novel.
Yen Press published the original light novel series The irregular at magic high school and Yu Mori’s spin-off manga The Honor Student at Magic High School .
The television anime The irregular at magic high school premiered in April 2014 and aired for 26 episodes. The second season, titled The Irregular at Magic High School: Visitor Arc, premiered on October 3 and ran for 13 episodes. The anime franchise also includes the film The Movie: The Magic at Magic High School: The Girl Who Summons the Stars, which opened in Japan in June 2017.
The Honor Student at Magic High School manga is getting a television anime adaptation that will premiere this year.
