Persona fans discovered evidence that could indicate Persona 5 Royal could be coming to Nintendo Switch along with other console lines.
Last week saw a major announcement made for the Persona franchise. It may not be Persona 6’s confirmation, but it’s the next best thing. Persona 3, Persona 4, and Persona 5 versions have been revealed to be available on modern platforms, including PC, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S. However, there is still one platform that is clearly absent from that list. Nintendo Switch is not confirmed to receive Persona copies at this time. Although the evidence continues to grow, it is only a matter of time.
The latest indication that Persona is coming to Switch sooner rather than later stems from a recently discovered retailer listing. German retailer WOG.ch has created a profile in its online database for Persona 5 Royal on Nintendo Switch, leading some fans to believe the RPG will also be coming to the platform. This platform has simply not been published.
No listings for the other two Persona installments planned for porting to the new platforms were found on the retailer’s website. The other two games are Persona 3 Portable and Persona 4 Golden. That’s not surprising, if only because those two games don’t have a release date yet and will come after Persona 5 Royal is released later this year.
It should be said that the retailer listing for the game is unreliable. People who add listings to a retailer’s data may do so based on confusion, inaccurate data, or simply by chance. What makes this particular rumor remarkable is that it’s not the only evidence that Persona 5 Royale is coming to the Nintendo Switch.
If Persona 5 Royale is indeed in development for the Nintendo Switch, then some might question why the game hasn’t been confirmed along with the PC and Xbox version announcements. The answer may be that Nintendo is keeping the announcement for one of its own shows. Nintendo skipped the launch in early June, but it is rumored that there will be a Nintendo Direct instead at the end of the month. For now, it’s unclear whether Persona 5 Royal and other Persona games will launch on Nintendo Switch. Though if no announcement is made by the end of June, then Persona fans might want to consider playing the game on another platform.
